Frequently asked questions
Lighthousekeeper Design is the home based craft business of Dale & Pam Longacre. We have been doing craftwork for nearly 45 years with a few breaks in between. It is an enjoyable adventure and a great way to stay busy doing what we love.
Pam is the creative force behind the illuminated multi-layered shadowbox designs. She also produces other cut-craft items.
Dale is the inspiration behind our Engraved products. His skills in computer design and graphics allow for a vast selection of designs.
Dale is also a lifelong professional fine arts photographer having received his first camera in the 8th grade. He has been nurturing his skills in all aspects of photography through the years. He now travels the coastal areas of Maine capturing its natural beauty and wildlife. It is our hope to eventually incorporate his images into our website and live craft events in the future.
Illuminated Shadowboxes are made from layers of precision cut paper creating a 3-dimensional image that has battery operated micro -lights interwoven into the layers. This gives the framed art a soothing enhanced glow in darker conditions. They are CNC cut and hand layered by Pam Longacre in Westbrook, Maine. the cut and assembly time for these is approximately 2 to 4 hours each.
Thank you for noticing. We are very excited to be getting ready to offer Engraved items to our mix. After dabbling with a hobby laser engraver, we have decided to purchase an industrial machine and offer a variety if products to our catalog. While we are anxiously awaiting the arrival and setup of the engraving equipment, we are creating many designs to be ready to start production.
